Display:
OnePlus 8 Pro comes with 6.78” Fluid AMOLED Display which has Quad HD+ resolution and stunning 120 Hz Display, with 240 Hz touch sampling. This is the best accurate colour display ever. OnePlus ensured that there is no colour shifting. The fluid display is one of the best features of this phone which will definitely make you fall in love with this phone.

Connectivity:
OnePlus 8 Pro support latest Smart 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, NFC(Near Field Communication), Bluetooth 5.1. These are the best specs available out there right now. Although 5G will take 3-4 years to be available in India.

Camera:

OnePlus 8 Pro has a quad-camera setup which is aligned vertically at the center of the phone.

  • 48MP Sony IMX 6897 sensor main camera (F1.78)
  • 48MP IMX 586 sensor Ultrawide with Macro Mode(F2.2)
  • 8MP Telephoto camera(f2.44)(3X optical, 30X Digital Zoom)
  • 5MP colour filter camera

OnePlus 8 Pro camera with 48MP gives sharp images with nice dynamic range and colours. Camera focus is very impressive. It focuses well on the subject and doesn’t have any noise in the images. The resulting image has a stronger contrast, various colour balances, a good amount of saturation with punchy colours. This camera does a good job in low light photography by producing a clean image.

30X digital zoom is available with Telephoto camera but that produces a noisy image. 3X Optical zoom is available and does a better job in terms of the zoom feature. In Macro mode camera focuses well from a very close distance of 2-3 cm and give detail image.

Main camera and Ultra-wide camera both support OIS(Optical Image Stabilization), EIS(ElectronicImage Stabilization). Hence it gives good video stabilization making it feel like recorded using gimble. These cameras have 4K shooting capabilities but don’t have 8K like the one available in Xiaomi MI 10.
Slow Motions shots are little disappointing with too much noise and very little details.

Front Camera:
OnePlus 8 Pro has 16MP Punch hole type selfie camera residing at the top left corner of the screen. This camera does a good job in clicking selfies.

Battery:
OnePlus 8 Pro has 4510mAh battery which supports Warp charge 30T. This time OnePlus also came with wireless fast charging for this phone. But this wireless fast charging is only possible if you are using OnePlus fast charger which you have to purchase separately. On other wireless charging devices, it will charge slow at 10W. Warp fast charger charges phone up to 60% in just 30 min. This charging lasts for a day even after heavy usage of the phone.

Controversial Camera Filter:

OnePlus 8 Pro has Photochromic colour filter. Basically, OnePlus have removed the colour filter from this camera which made this camera very sensitive. Many reviewers found this filter useless until someone figured out the destructive capability of this filter. This filter makes the plastic semi-translucent giving you inside look of the components by making it see-through. Even it penetrates through some of the clothes material making it see-through. Which can lead to huge privacy concern in the near future.

OnePlus accepted their mistake and came up with the solution. That is they will block the access to this filter through an update. But this can be only considered as a temporary solution as the filter is a hardware part, not software. so anyone with wrong intentions can easily root mobile and use this filter for the wrong purpose. Many people raised their voice for banning this phone or removing this camera filter but OnePlus still going forward with their planned launching. Let's hope this phone doesn’t fall in evil hands.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro was supposed to be launched on 29th May 2020 in India, but the day before the launch their production halted as some workers found positive for Covid-19. The new launch date is yet to declare by OnePlus. Once launched these phones will be available on Amazon India site for sale.

Software and Performance:

There are lots of optimization, improvements and animations in OnePlus 8 Pro. It is based on Oxygen OS which is supported by the latest Android 10. There is a new dark mode introduced with 2.0 theme, new dynamic wallpapers etc. The bright display of this phone has a 120 Hz refresh rate but its smart AI will lower it to 60Hz whenever the phone is in idle position or for apps which runs on less refresh rate. OnePlus has got an IP65 rating which means it is water and dust resistance.

This is the best flagship mobile in the market right now with all the above specs. Expensive but at the same time reasonable for the specs and features it is providing. Do let me know what are your views on OnePlus 8 Pro.
